This year’s Cup of Excellence Nicaragua was notable not just for the excellent-quality coffees awarded by the jury, but for the impressive performance of F1 hybrid varieties in the competition. The highest-placing F1 hybrid was Centroamericano, a coffee from farmer Gonzalo Adán Castillo Moreno, which placed second.
