Will there be any coffee left in 100 years?
At the 5th annual World Coffee Leaders Forum in Seoul Korea, Tim Schilling joined five other industry leaders in a plenary presentation on science and communication.
the demand for coffee to double by 2050, and for agriculturally viable
land to diminish by half in the same time, Dr. Schilling
presented the case for a severe shortage of coffee in the near future. He also explained several ways in which World Coffee Research has been
working to prevent such a crisis, through the launch of the first global breeding program for coffee, a global coffee monitoring system, and programs to disseminate better information to farmers.
