Francisco Anzueto recognized for years of service
The award recognizes his 39 years of scientific contributions to the coffee industry
On August 5, Dr. Francisco Anzueto received a well-deserved award recognizing his 39 years of service and contributions to the global coffee industry. The award was presented at the XXVII Congreso Nacional del Café in Guatemala. Prior to joining World Coffee Research as the scientific coordinator for Central America, Anzueto worked for nearly four decades for Guatemala’s National Coffee Association (Anacafé). He was their director of research from 1986 to 2014. His research has focused on topics including plant breeding, nematology (the study of nematodes), quality and food safety, as well as different coffee environments and production systems, with experience in providing technical advice to farmers. He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific papers.
At the awards ceremony, he was welcomed with thundering applause from the audience while his proud family looked on.
