World Coffee Research is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Tania Humphrey to the position of Director of Research & Development (R&D). The position is the senior scientific leadership position at the collaborative research nonprofit and entails the oversight of WCR’s global research portfolio and building partnerships.

WCR Advocacy Aims To Increase U.S. Government Support for Coffee
World Coffee Research has added advocacy activities in the U.S. to its global leadership portfolio this year. WCR’s advocacy aligns with the National Coffee Association’s (NCA) legislative agenda. WCR is focusing on the research and development components of that agenda to increase U.S. government support for coffee research.
WCR launches new membership model
As of January 2022, World Coffee Research (WCR) has shifted to a new volume- and revenue-based membership fee structure and membership model. This approach aims to provide greater equity and transparency among member companies, and is better suited to provide sustainable funding for agricultural research. The new model supports WCR to execute its 2021-2025 strategic plan, which includes the launch in 2022 of a new Global Breeding Network for coffee.
